BIO – Vanessa Buduhan
My academic history begins in 1997 graduating from the University of Winnipeg with a BA (Psychology).
Soon after, I graduated with distinction from the University of Manitoba’s BN program
in 2000. In 2004, I completed my MN, also at the University of Manitoba. The program which
focused on evidence-informed practice, ignited my passion for knowledge and its translation into
practice. My thesis was titled Psychological Distress and Physical Symptom Experience in
Post-Surgical Colorectal Cancer Patients.
My clinical interests include mental health, surgical and oncology nursing. I have worked as a
Continuing Education Instructor (Surgery) in Winnipeg and as Regional Professional Practice
and Academic Leader in Vancouver before taking and extended hiatus to raise my two daughters.
I am now looking forward to continuing my nursing journey and am eager to commence
my PhD at the University of Manitoba.
